The first time I used the foaming wash, I touched my skin and was really surprised that my skin didn’t feel extremely dry or uncomfortable like I assumed it would be but it visually brightens my skin with every use. It’s not like a typical foaming cleanser though, instead it’s more like a rich lather which is easy to rinse from the skin. The foaming action starts on contact with dampened skin, but really intensifies when I try and rinse with a hot flannel. The Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash has a creamy yet slightly gritty consistency almost like a face scrub, but as the product is massaged into the skin the grittiness disappears and it becomes more a lot smoother like a cleanser. I like to dispense a 50 pence piece amount and massage it into my face and neck for a good minute or so, and then rinse with a hot flannel. The directions include using it to remove makeup but I’d never use a cleanser as high quality as this to remove my makeup as I feel like it’s a massive waste, so I prefer to use something else to remove my makeup and then follow up with this as a second cleanse so I can really enjoy using it. The Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash £32 is packaged within a 120ml squeezy plastic tube, and is available from Cult Beauty alongside the rest of the Kate Somerville skincare range. Kate Somerville is one of those skincare brands which are featured frequently in beauty favourites posts and videos, but I for one had never tried any of their products until recently. For this very reason, I’ve not introduced any foaming skincare products into my regime for a very long time but I was very kindly given the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash as a gift and I knew I had to try it. Foaming skincare products are notorious for being too harsh or are an irritant to those with dry and/or sensitive skin and I’ve always found them to leave my skin feeling seriously stripped and uncomfortable. Massaged in for 30 seconds and left on for up to two minutes, you’ll get gorgeously glowing in no time. When it comes to skincare, I have always actively avoided anything with ‘foaming’ within the product name or description. Finally, rosewood and cinnamon extracts combine to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Alongside this enzymatic exfoliation, gently scrubbing silica provides physical exfoliation, while soothing aloe vera, antibacterial honey and antioxidant vitamin E soften skin and calm any potential irritation. Papaya, pineapple and pumpkin enzymes (Kate’s ‘three Ps for perfect skin’) as well as natural alpha hydroxy acid, lactic acid, work to counteract dullness, dryness and uneven skin tone and texture by loosening and sloughing away dead, dulling cells to reveal the beautifully balanced, even radiance beneath – without drying. The secret to a glowing, ‘fresh from the skin clinic’ complexion lies in the advanced ingredients used in this formula. Known as ‘The Hollywood 2-minute facial’, ExfoliKate is Kate Somerville’s bestselling, dual-action exfoliator, which delivers incredible results in as little as one use.
